The Escoffier Room
The Escoffier Room Restaurant is named after the celebrated chef, Auguste Escoffier who was one of the founding fathers of the college. In the Escoffier Room kitchen, we follow the principles of Auguste Escoffier whilst combining modern techniques and presentation. The weekly changing menu theme is designed, tested and cooked by our third year students using seasonal ingredients and foods from across the world to achieve this. The students are showcasing their skills and techniques learnt whilst studying on the Westminster Kingsway College Diploma.
In the front of house, our second year chef students are trained in the food and beverage service techniques that one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The students follow the criteria set by our awarding organisation, City & Guilds, in helping them achieve the skills required to be a waiter, runner, sommelier, barista and host. Additionally, the students are given the opportunity to work at large events throughout London such as the Michelin Star reveal and The Clink Charity Ball.
The Escoffier Room is open 5 days a week for lunch at a price of £31 for 6 courses (excluding Bank holidays and Training days). We are also open on Wednesday & Thursday evenings for dinner at the cost of £31 for 5 courses. For an additional £31 you can take advantage of our wine pairing menu, otherwise we have a reasonable priced wine list for you to make your own selection. This is available for both lunch and dinner services.
As we are a training restaurant there are only 12 tables available with the largest table seating 4. We recommend you book online early to avoid disappointment.
You can book the restaurant for exclusive groups at a cost of £3000. This price includes a 5 course meal from the current themed menu, an arrival glass of Champagne, full wine pairing including dessert wine, filter coffee, petit fours, room hire, labour cost and can accommodate a maximum of 40 covers.
