Hospitality (with ESOL) - Level 1 Award

This course is the first step on the pathway to a career in hospitality. It is aimed at learners whose first language is not English. The course includes an OCN Level 1 Hospitality qualification, taught by industry specialists, alongside ESOL. 

Modules include:

• Kitchen skills
• Baking skills
• Barista skills
• Bar/cocktail skills
• Customer service
• ESOL skills for Life Awards in speaking, listening, reading and writing

• Your English should be at a strong Entry 3 level
• You will need to have ESOL qualifications at Entry 3 or be able to demonstrate this in a pre-course assessment

You do not require any previous hospitality qualifications

The Hospitality qualification will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence.

You will sit ESOL exams in speaking and listening, reading and writing. 

Adults - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

If you will be aged 19+ on 31st August prior to the start date of your course, up to Level 2, then your study with us will be free. You must have lived for 3 years within the EU/EEA/UK prior to the start of your course, you must have lived in the UK before 1st January 2021 and you must have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning. After the course, you can progress to Level 2 Hospitality and Culinary Skills qualifications. The qualification will also help you gain employment in the hospitality sector.
